Jake has served in the local church since 2006 as a youth minister and pastor in Fredericksburg, Lubbock, and Jayton. Having served as the Senior Pastor of GBC since May of 2022, Jake is motivated to see the local church carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) and make disciples among all nations.
Jake married Tricia in 2010, and they have five beautiful children (Jorden, Landry, Norah, Preston, and Bo). You can find the Edwards family at church and Pottsboro school/sports activities. Jake received his bachelor's in Christian Studies and Master's in Theology at Dallas Baptist University. Recently, Jake completed his Doctor of Ministry in Church Leadership from Liberty University, where he wrote his dissertation on "discipleship in the local church."
GBC is unique to Jake, and he looks forward to getting to know more people who want to grow their relationship with Jesus Christ. So feel free to contact the church office to schedule an appointment to enjoy coffee and conversation.

Ryan has been in full time ministry since 2013, serving Youth and Worship ministries in Allen, Nevada, and Blue Ridge. He began as Worship Pastor at Georgetown in August of 2023, and loves being part of a church staff that is motivated and excited about reaching our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. Growing up in the church, Ryan loved running tech, playing guitar, helping people feel welcome, and serving in any capacity possible. He uses those giftings and more to serve the Georgetown congregation and staff any way he can. Ryan and his wife, Valerie, have been married since 2016 and have 3 intelligent and energetic children- Weston, Lachlan, and Breslyn. They love spending time together in the community, playing outside, hosting friends and family at their home, playing board games, and serving the church.

Maverick has been on our GBC staff, serving as our student minister since January 2020. God called Maverick to ministry when he was 16 while he was a youth ministry member here at Georgetown Baptist Church. Ever since then, Maverick has wanted all of our youth and college students to know Christ and become disciples of Jesus so they can proclaim the gospel to the people around them.

Maverick married his wife Malorie in 2021 and they have 2 dogs: Luna and Dipper. Other than serving our church and taking care of their dogs, you can find Maverick and Malorie doing one of their many hobbies: golf, pickleball, coffee shops, or at their house grilling and playing board games.

Maverick loves this community and loves this church, and while he does our student ministry, Maverick loves to minister to all in need. You can get to know Maverick over a cup of coffee. Contact the office or email him and schedule a time to get to know the funniest staff member we have.

Brette is married to Matt, and they have two fabulous kiddos. Harper is seven and Bear is four. The Gabbart family loves being outdoors, whether at a ball field, on the lake, or around the family ranch.

Brette has been serving on staff at GBC since January 2018 but has been attending since age 3. Growing up in Georgetown, Brette has learned and served alongside many wise and Godly leaders. She came to know the Lord when she was nine years old and has been serving Him since. In 2021 she was appointed Interim Children’s Minister and was later voted in as full-time Children’s Minister in the spring of 2022. She desires to help children learn WHO God is and who they are IN HIM! Donna has been a member of Georgetown since 1996 and has worked in the church office since 2012. She is married to Gary, has a daughter named Jenna, and has two grandchildren, Ben and Sophie. She loves teaching the youth girls Bible study, and cooking for youth events. Donna also loves helping church members, so feel free to call her in the church office anytime.

Finance Assistant

Mike has been a member of Georgetown since 2018 and joined the office staff in May of 2023. He has been married to Kathy since 1974. They have two children, Joel and Lauren, and two grandsons, Beck and Finn, who both love visiting with Grammy and Grampa and going to church at Georgetown. Mike teaches the men’s group on Wednesday nights and is a substitute Sunday School teacher.
