I am honored and humbled at the opportunity of being pastor of Georgetown Baptist Church. My family moved to Pottsboro in March 2008. We are so blessed to be part of a great community and an amazing family of faith.

I grew up in Kentucky. In 1984 I came to Texas to attend seminary and never made it back to my homeland. My favorite things to do are to spend time with my family, mow, landscape and watch Kentucky Wildcat basketball.

I became a believer at the age of seven. Growing into the image of Christ is my goal. Some days I do better than others, but I am captivated by the thought that God loves me and gave Himself to die for me. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Ministry Leaders

Interim Youth Minister

Maverick Malone

I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve Georgetown Baptist Church as the Interim Youth Minister. I grew up this youth group, this church is my home. I don’t say that lightly!  It’s Georgetown Baptist Church where I accepted Jesus Christ when I was 14 years old, and where I received my call to ministry at 16.

I have lived in Pottsboro, Texas my entire life, so I am extremely passionate about this community and its youth. It is my calling to lead youth into a deep loving relationship with God.

1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example.” This is what I strive to live by and what I teach the students of The Reach. God will be the center of everything we do: games, events, Wednesday nights bible study, or anything else, and He will get the Glory!

Children’s Minister

Erica Deweber

I’m so blessed to serve as the Interim Children’s Minister at Georgetown Baptist Church. From Colbert, OK, my Husband, Shane, and I moved to Denison in 2000. We have five children, Alex, Sydney, Dakota, Chloe and Rorie. Our oldest daughter, Sydney, is married to Ryan and they have given us two grand-blessings, Adeline and Roman.

I served as an assistant at Parkside Baptist Church, Denison, from 2010 – 2012. Our family moved in 2012 to Wichita Falls, TX, and returned home to Denison in 2019. I served on staff at First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, as an assistant and as the Preschool/Children’s Choir Coordinator/Director.

I have a great love for children and music. God has laid passion and a burden on my heart to bury scripture deep inside a child’s heart, and to teach our children how to give it all back to God through our praise and worship. Building God’s kingdom one heart at a time…that’s my calling and to God be all the glory! Great things He has done!

 Worship Leader

Ryan Dickson

I am excited to serve as Minister of Worship here at Georgetown Baptist Church. My belief is that music has an ability to impact people and I feel blessed to be able to use it as a tool to lead the church in authentic worship of our heavenly father.

I have spent most of my life in Denison, TX where I currently live with my wife Megan and son Myles. I have been leading worship in various capacities since 2004. From 2013 to 2016 I served as the Worship Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church of Denison. Since that time, until joining the staff at Georgetown, I had the honor of serving churches across north Texas and southern Oklahoma as a fill in worship leader when needed.

In my spare time, when I am not playing guitar or writing music, I enjoy watching football and spending time with my family. God is so good and deserves my constant praise. It is my goal to live a life that is filled with worship of him and “worthy of the gospel”. (Philippians 1:27)

Our Staff

Pastor’s Assistant

Donna Gist

I have been the Pastor’s administrative assistant since 2012. I normally work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 am to around noon. However, please feel free to contact me at anytime; I am always happy to assist anyone.

I have been a member of Georgetown Baptist since 1996. I love the youth and am involved in that ministry. I have taught junior high Sunday School and am currently teaching high school girls Sunday School. I love going to camp and cooking for them because it gives me a chance to get to know each of them personally.

I “retired” from Texas Instruments in 2009 and took up quilting, which is what I do when I am not at church. I also love to read and always have a book with me. Matthew 6:33-34

Financial Administrator

Niki Henderson

I am happy to be serving Georgetown Baptist Church as the Finance Administrator. My husband, Keith, and I moved here the summer of 2017 from Denton, TX. We’ve been members of Georgetown since September of 2018. Together we have two girls, Claire & Ruby.

In addition to attending church here, Keith and I also serve at the Grayson College BSM and have been so blessed by this ministry. I am eager to see where the future takes us at Georgetown Baptist Church and look forward to meeting & serving you!

Administrator’s Assistant

Danielle Farrington

I am so extremely blessed to be serving as administrative assistant here at Georgetown Baptist Church. There is no place I would rather be. I have that opportunity to share Jesus in a unique way daily and I am asked to do it. That is pretty amazing if you ask me!

I live here in Pottsboro with my amazing husband, Garrett and two wildly beautiful children, Maelyn and Easton. We have been members of Georgetown Baptist Church since 2018. I have a huge heart for this community, mission work and youth ministry, so I am as active in those as I can possibly be. Here at the church, I am a leader in The Reach, as well as the Family Promise coordinator. I run an in home youth bible study called IMPACT and love serving in the community.  In my free time, I love to study my bible, read, travel with my family and I am always up for a good competitive game night!

I look forward to seeing where God takes me in my adventure here at Georgetown Baptist Church. And if you ever need anything at all, I am only a phone call away! God bless!

Facilities Manager

Jason Safford

I’m so blessed to serve as the Facilities Manager at Georgetown Baptist Church. My family moved from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, back to the Pottsboro area in 2013. At that time my wife began her profession as a nurse anesthetist at TMC and Baylor Scott and White.

My Wife, Nichole and I have been members of Georgetown Baptist since 2015. We have 2 children, Landry and Ella.

My hobbies include golf, travelling with my kids’ activities, and TCU sports!

Children’s Assistant

Brette Gabbart

My parents started coming to Georgetown when I was 3. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was 8 years old. I was your typical “Jesus loving church girl” growing up. I was always at church or church functions. I loved being at church. I moved schools from Pottsboro to Texoma Christian School in middle school and finished high school at TCS.

After high school I jumped in feet first in volunteering in the youth group at Georgetown Baptist Church. That was my favorite place to be. Helping with activities, loving on some kids, and showing them Jesus’ love!

About a year after high school, I met my sweet husband Matthew. We dated for about a year and a half before he proposed! We were married the following year in September! We moved to Daisy, Oklahoma and lived there for a little over 2 years before God opened door after door for us to move back to my favorite place in the world, Pottsboro! God moved me to Daisy so I could grow up. At the time I was very very sad to be leaving my church family, but God provided a church family to help me mature and grow up in McGee Valley Baptist Church. (Ask me about moving back, I love to tell that story!)

We moved back to Pottsboro December 1st of 2017. I was hired the following January as the Children’s assistant and I’ve loved every minute of working at my home church.

While at Georgetown our previous worship leader, Chris Lovejoy, recorded his debut album “rescue“. Hear it here on Spotify.

Chad Carouthers, who is the show producer for the trio “Phillps Craig and Dean,” recorded, edited and mastered the “rescue” project. The album is available on Spotify andiTunes

Our Georgetown misses Chris and his family sorely; it was such a privilege and blessing to have Chris, his team, and his family lead our congregation in worship each Sunday morning.  We look forward to the day that we get to re-join Chris in eternal worship of our Lord.
